I have everything I need.
(I hope that I'm not steeped in greed.)

My dye-job now looks oh-so right.
(But, underneath, I know it's white.)

How gorgeous is my new front door.
(Those monies could have helped the poor.)

I think I'll call some friends today.
(Don't interrupt their well-planned day.)

I'd love to nosh on something sweet.
(People are starving for basics to eat.)

It's storming out. I love the rain.
(It causes Mom arthritic pain.)

It's fun to volunteer at school.
(Most parents work. That seems so cruel.)

The day's been full. To bed I go.
(A child somewhere sleeps in the snow.)

Prayers of gratitude, then I sob.
(Feeling guilty: a full-time job!)
