I’M SORRY, Pastor!
For lies I told that others have heard
The Lord placed me in your flock
For you to guide me to God’s Word
I’M SORRY, Pastor!
For The Lord gave you that Honor
I should’ve remembered
Anything with two heads is a monster
I’M SORRY, Pastor!
For, to have Faith, one must hear
But to self and pride
I lent an itchy ear
I’M SORRY, Pastor!
The Word of God IS true
And I believed that word until
I felt I knew more than you
I’M SORRY, Pastor!
Instead of adulation
I maligned your name
Before the congregation
I’M SORRY, Pastor!
The warning of James I should have followed
Instead my actions wrecked your work
As if my tongue were super-powered
I’M SORRY, Pastor!
Your ministry here now is undone
I should have recalled Christ’s words
And the reason on the Cross He hung
I’M SORRY, Pastor
I will try to reach all people
Reminding them at the very top of the Church
Is the Pastor, not the steeple
