Fear. It seems it comes from everywhere.
A hidden threat for which I prepare.
It lurks around each corner, menacing and dark.
Not seldom it comes along to find and hit its mark.
It hides behind trees, fences, and rocks galore.
It hides with the promise there's so much more.
Voices from beyond still ring within my mind.
They whisper shame where weakness lies.
I clutch control with tightened grip
So afraid somehow it will slip.
Turning control back over to God
Will grant me peace as onward I plod
I've learned so much along the course.
Fear is a great and powerful force.
God is King of the world, a higher feat
Fight, freeze, or flee is now beneath my feet.
