Double Refrain Kyrielle for Potlatch Poetry
That Soothing Sound by damommy
Poem of the Month contest entry

While sitting in the garden shade,
I hear the buzz of honeybees.
As they check every bloom and blade,
I watch as breezes stir the trees.

Their busyness apparent when
I hear the buzz of honeybees.
Just where, I wonder, have they been.
I watch as breezes stir the trees.

This lazy, hazy afternoon
I hear the buzz of honeybees.
While listening to a songbird’s tune,
I watch as breezes stir the trees.

In special times of summer days,
I hear the buzz of honeybees,
and sitting in a drowsy daze,
I watch as breezes stir the trees.

What joy they bring me on the days
I hear the buzz of honeybees.
Still here I sit - they flew away.
I watch as breezes stir the trees.
