Sonnet Humor #1 by Tom Horonzy
Sonnet Humor contest entry

Too Tall Tom  inherited a fruit farm
beneath a floating sea of cumulus
where he lived with a spirited schoolmarm
raising kids and bovine-horned ruminants.

They lived a privileged pastoral life;
til a rambunctious rooster came along
which is when Tom, with Nell, his laid-back wife,
had everything right go terribly wrong.

Sheep in the meadows and cows in the barn
redone peace shared into total mayhem,
as they baaed and mooed from evening to dawn
having sleeplessness beget both of them.

In the aftermath, Tom lost everything
realizing only one male*can be king.

Author Notes
Originally male* was to be Cock, defined as: a male chicken; rooster, but some might find it obscene, so I inserted it with a star.

In addition, I edited this piece considerably as reviewers pointed out sonnets are to be iambic pentameter, so I tried my best to accommodate, rather than changing the title to poetry, leaving it to sonnet.
