West Side
I attended school at West Side.
Everyone was filled with school pride.
Cheerleaders always cheered loud.
Teams always played for a big crowd.
The pirate was our school mascot.
From our teachers we learned a lot.
Our school colors - maroon and white.
Students formed friendships which were tight.
There were activities to choose.
We stuck with our teams win or lose.
Our school pride showed at every game.
Everyone knew each other's name.
Many awards were given out.
Students worked hard without a doubt.
We would sing our school song with pride.
We loved our dear ol' West Side high.
My Step-family
You don't look like me.
I don't look like you.
Some of us have different points of view.
You were not my family from the start,
But I have learned to love you from the heart.
We're not related by blood I know.
Our differences and trials help us grow.
All of us will not always get along.
We need to forgive each other, be strong.
You are my step-family, our lives blend.
Each one of you I consider my friend.
Until recently I did not know you.
Our friendships in life will see us through.
Every one of you God gave me to love.
Your are all blessings to me from above.
We need to learn how to communicate,
Have patience, trust, make each other feel great.
