Exceptional a funny little fantasy Unconquerable Foe by Mintybee 80 Word Flash Fiction contest entry

"Help us!" a tinkling voice chimed. It was not mere dust dancing in the light. Tiny fairies whirled, and implored her. "Please. We need you!" "Who are you?" she asked, awed. "We are trapped! The monster sealed the passage." They swirled faster, agitated, moving toward a dark corner. She followed - imagining dragons, Balrogs - enchanted by excitement. She reached into the shadows where the fairies led her. A spider landed on her hand. "No-o-o-o-o-o!!" she shrieked, fleeing in horror. Recognized Author Notes We like to believe we'd fight dragons for love, honour, glory. But not spiders. Spiders are creepy! A note on word count: My word program counted this at 80, but one reviewer pointed out it was a few words shy. I tried two other word count programs, and from 4 sources I had 3 different word counts. I think the extended "No-o-o-o-o-o" is tripping up processors. The contest details say 78-82 words will be accepted. By my count, I now have 78 in this slightly updated version.
