The dancing leaves rain down as I pass by,
the branches almost bare, with just a few.
With color, dulled, they still delight the eye,
reminding me of Autumns I once knew.
Bringing leaves to mom when just a child,
she said they were the prettiest of all.
Leaves raked by my dad, so high they piled,
two precious memories brought back by fall.
The air is crisp and cheeks take on a glow,
the pumpkins on the stoops are all alight.
It won't be long 'til bitter winds will blow,
and blanketed our world will be, with white.
As Fall comes to a close then Christmas nears,
excited children dream of Christmas Eve.
Just spending time with those you love so dear,
it's lovely memories we all shall weave.
As I look back on Autumn through the years,
I find it is my favorite time of all.
The laughter, love, the joy, even the tears,
are happy memories that I recall.
