The Watch by DragonSkulls 100 Word Flash Fiction contest entry |
For my mother's eightieth birthday I got her one of those hi-tech, smart watches. It has all the bells and whistles. It tells your body temperature and heart rate. It counts how many steps you take and distance walked. It connects to your phone. It does way too many things to even list. I went to the kitchen to get dinner ready. Twenty minutes later, she came in scowling, cussing her new watch. I asked, "What are you trying to make it do?" "What I'm trying to do is make this stupid thing tell me what crapping time it is!"
