As the body grows weaker, strengths we once had fade away
Read and Review

Sometimes it is just
The size of the print that is
Why I read or not.
Sometimes it's simply
The color of the background
That invites me in.
Other times I see
Dark images that frighten
The reader in me.
The shortness of lines
Can sometimes call to my eyes
And elicit stars.
Sometmes too many
lines in the work can lessen
my comprehension.
My attention span
Can't be blamed on the author
It is my weakness.
I want to read all
And learn from each one of you
But sadly, I can't.
My eyes grow older
and my brain cells are quite full
'No room at the inn'
I am not perfect
But I may be just enough
To at least help one.

Author Notes
I love reading here, but there are poems I routinely skip~ primarily, those printed in a small font, with little contrast between text and background color. I am trying to remember to choose the advanced editor so I can enlarge my font size for readers... sometimes I forget, and know I forfeit reviews by doing that. This is a simple 5-7-5 poem.
