The stairs lead up to my own door
I open to a world of quiet and peace
Bright rugs adorn the shining oaken floor
This room is where I find my main release.
The quilt upon the bed is one I made.
It took years from '87 to '92
A pool of grey shows where my cat has laid
In contrast to the colour scheme of blue.
My bed is sweet with lavendered sheets and pillows
And welcomes me to rest at each day's end
Like a ship home safe from ocean's billows
Its safety gives me heart and time to mend.
With thanksgiving in the morning do I wake
To praise my God for all that He has given
This airy room wherein my rest I take
Is home to me, my little piece of Heaven
