FREE VERSE ! Contest Winner 

As I’ve walked the path life has given me,
traversing the twists and turns,
and yes, some sad ones,
I’ve learned that nothing
stays the same.
Yet it does
in some strange way.
We love, we lose,
we live, we die,
and the world keeps spinning.
We never know
where life will take us,
when it will leave us,
or what impact we may have
in someone else’s journey,
whether it’s to encourage
or to eviscerate with words and actions.
One thing remains true –
Success is not what we own,
but that people love us.
