Endurance wins. 100 words

Mitch grabbed hold of the slippery creature and they began to wrestle. It was all in the mind really, but Mitch knew endurance would also be required.
''You'll not beat me this time!'' he muttered bravely.
They'd been adversaries before. His nemesis had often evaded him, with the only injury being wounded pride at the task left unfinished.
Before too long, it went limp and Mitch let go of it, but astonishingly the darn thing kicked back into life and then was up and running.
At last he pinned down the weak idea and thus completed his 100-word contest entry.
