Life Decision's at an Early Age

Lined up in my sights, I held my breath without flinching a muscle. She’d sense the slightest movement, costing me the shot.
One easy pull. My first kill. The pride in telling my buddies. The old man’s pat on my back.
Seeing her in the nest, with those tiny peeping mouths waiting to be fed...
I lowered the BB gun from my shoulder. She flew safely away.
