Many thanks to Kenzie, our granddaughter for her drawing
my mom asked me to go to our nearby grocery store
at eight years old, I went alone and entered the front door
I looked around, but no one there, they must have been in back
I was amazed to see all of the candy on the rack
temptation hit my little brain, and who would ever know?
then I heard this little voice, say "no no no no no!"
raised with three brothers, I caught many frogs and snakes
in the sun I'd bake mud pies, that's what a tomboy makes
my brother and I were in the house throwing a football
he accidentally threw too hard, and we heard something fall
an antique of my dad's, who we've heard his temper blow
both tempted to tell a lie, but that voice said no no no
when I was a teenager, I was shopping with a friend
she found a shirt; and it was more than what she had to spend
she put it in her bag and as she started to walk out
I told her it was wrong, of that I had no doubt
she said she knew that I was right, as her guilt started to show
she said she heard her conscience say"no no no no no no!"
I ask God to guide my path and always keep me meek
I know that going for seven days without Him makes one weak
last night I met this handsome man who's giving me that look
I fell for him completely, as we kissed my body shook
I could not fight temptation; then I start to wake up slow
Thankfully it was just a dream, but still a no No NO!"
