To Kindle Christmas Joy

What is it about each Christmas That kindles our hearts with such joy? It must be more than wishes for Expensive gifts or brand-new toys. Perhaps it is the memories Of childhood dreams from long ago, When, by festive windows we watched, Our world fill up with sparkling snow. Or maybe it’s the feeling that, If we would raise our downcast eyes, We, too, will feel childlike wonder As we gaze upon Christmas skies. For all I know it’s a small seed, That lies waiting within our souls, And when nourished by goodwill cheer, We sense higher purpose and goals. In truth, this season reminds us That bright lights of Christmas can shine All through the year, if we so choose, When to His grace our lives consign. And so, my Christmas wish to all Is simple, but comes from my heart: May the glow of this season grow, And may each day His love impart… |
