I am Australian, so the use of 'cracker' is not derogatory as it might be when referring to residents of southern states in USA (so I've heard).
In Australia, it is a positive term used to describe or refer to something as being terrific. Example: 'Today's been a cracker!' / 'That was a cracker of a game!'
