Prologue
The Sense

By Lea Tonin1

sensing changes in the air, turn around but no one there
Perplexing orbs dancing light, spinning sparkles join the night
Intuition inadequate word, a spectral voice my name I heard
Reverberates my mind with chimes, must talk in turns, one thing, one time
Inside my soul knowledge springs, spirits news such hope they bring
To follow clues senses collide and then poll the source sixth sense decides
Understand fleet foot is life chock full of plans beyond this strife
A ripple in a pond, a ring in a tree, a day in class, the bell rings at three
Lampost in the dark for those to see, like moths to a flame they come to me

Author Notes We all have our beliefs to be respected. Belief is different for everyone... This one is mine.

Chapter 1
Orange Crush

By Lea Tonin1

Burning mad embers window flight
The land recoils
Tree blood quick boils
Wild ones grave toil

Flaming darts rise run off the night
Hot air floats black
No coming back
Searing attack

Black, brown profound deathly blight
Indifferent hand
Thoughtless toss plan
Orange peel land

Author Notes A careless cigarette tossed out of a window caused one of B C's most major fires to date. The fire displaced and killed thousands of native animals burned out town's villagers and homes
.

Chapter 2
The Bottom

By Lea Tonin1

The fall great and long does not flatter,
systematic destruction ending of self
comes by those who protest too much
earnest face of love disguised as family

Take all possessions and the means to regain
the door of future recovery slams with smiles
ride the slide to the bottom, a mountain they built
snatch away the net meant to save

Elimination their goal, no recourse they left
nothing and no one they must be to me
I wait for my karmic guest to display her wares
so I write until then, my soul they cannot have

Author Notes My family took all I had. They planted the seeds of deception to ensure my doors to recover were closed. Manipulated and lied to make their idea of me true, to the authorities, to the people I loved, to other members of the family, in my career, interfered with my sons and my grandchild who is only thirteen years of age. Because I would not bend to the practice of pain regularly carried out in my family.

Chapter 3
Home

By Lea Tonin1

Corporeal life

time quickens schematic ends

the worlds veil thins now

Author Notes As we move closer and closer to the end of this final schematic for human kind, we note the supernateral becomes more prevalent and the door between this world and the next creaks open.

Chapter 5
The Light The Rot

By Lea Tonin1

equine moon trotting

dripping room rotting

Author Notes The poem is a metaphor and reflects the rotting of our society and all that we have lost as human beings. Ignoring our natural instincts of the barter system, helping of our neighbor no longer exists. The soul is give and take without expectations of something in return. We have lost a fundamental link to compassion which we all must have compassion and empathy.not sympathy. So for me this problem is symbolic of that

Chapter 6
Conundrum

By Lea Tonin1

land

oceans conundrum

splits its jade belly

where many say the sea-land began

Chapter 7
The Silence

By Lea Tonin1

Silent feet floor kiss

candles lying glow

Precedes horrid dark

Chapter 8
Dark Highway

By Lea Tonin1

Ethereal woods
travellers' regretful bliss
engines shuddered death
takes logical choice away
hours are decades night creeps in

Author Notes Fear knows gender, race or religion. Knows no colour, wealth or career. We fear....that is all.

Chapter 9
Bewilder

By Lea Tonin1

A drowned fool's heart yells quiet words that should
leave my love to drift on a desert sea
cast and hear myriad storms shrieking could
make deaf ears bend a vigorous plea

shredding softness blissfully streaming down
red armoured defence swiftly did vanquish
blistered heart beating a bewildered pound
banished the ghosts of old creeping anguish

I'm a feather and the cold winds' victim
riding terms of his disentanglement
blindingly indulging his thankless whim
traitorous heart fracture made imminent.

chattering cold the heat-searing pain blasts
in a place where hearts have thundered their last.

Author Notes A first attempt... I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 10
The Shift

By Lea Tonin1

intrepid young so we were

youth did not require a cure
No thoughts we gave beyond today
Our only interests fun and play

Mortality did not occur
Minds of young need not endure
Adulthood comes roaring In
the parent job soon will win

Children grow mid life collides
Too soon around us friends will die.
sense of time rolling out
Comes quick and swift there is no doubt.

White of hair wrinkled skin
fear of death factors in
hospital bed a woman dies
comes back to life a minute and five

Certain knowledge of life beyond
a gift was given she must go on
tell the tale of true belief
her badge of age a real relief

Reward for life are our deaths
cry not for us our final breath
home we'll go our souls are free
back to our true family.

see u there.......

Chapter 11
Love Thief

By Lea Tonin1

Gaslighter dead heart

Love thief wearing lying smiles

His last name is deception

Chapter 12
Nature's Band

By Lea Tonin1

seagulls float oceanic skies

aquatic dancers flashing disguise

waving branches a leafy green show

stretching arms with fingers that grow

jade sea lifts her watery skirt

tosses down a hot rock squirt

sea lions clap their robust tune

bark a song their fluidic boon

nature's band of beautific sounds

never practiced ever unbound

ebbs and flows through human souls

begs the world "Let music flow"

Author Notes It hit me that we keep trying to conform the world to suit us when we should be conforming ourselves to suit the world!

Chapter 13
Eclipse

By Lea Tonin1

Moonbeam

eclipse

slices romantic

bedazzled magnetic awe

freely hypnotized

Author Notes "Slices romantic is a metaphor for "stop and stare"

Chapter 14
Troy

By Lea Tonin1

Warning: The author has noted that this contains the highest level of violence.

Ships swiftly flying locally.
Helen of Sparta set them free.
Hector-Paris crossed the vast sea.
to sue for peace and hope they agree.

Paris struck by Helen's fate,
left Hector to negotiate
Exquisite love between the two.
Knew there is nothing left to do.

Helen hid and then stowed away.
Hector found her after a day.
Hector is angry at Paris' no boy!
Still, they kept sailing for Troy.

Priam welcomed Helen of Sparta.
"Helen of Troy, Sparta not part of."
Menelaus enraged went to his brother.
"Agamemnon help me there's no other!"

Agamemnon and greed walked hand in hand.
Sat with his brother large battles to plan.
Two vengeful kings gathered their men.
Sent word to Achilles and his Myrmaden.

Sailed over to Troy a large vast fleet.
Intentions to cause a huge mass defeat.
Achilles' friend his name was Patroclus.
Died in battle Hector duplicitous.

Achilles in grief went after Hector.
Fought for hours there was no victor.
Weak, and exhausted Hector was done.
Achilles pounced with blades one by one!

Maniloas was killed just before Hector.
Greeks thought they shouldn't have gone there.
Ten years the Greek war razed and blazed on.
Troy was starving, and wished they were gone.

Odysseus went to his king with wine.
An idea he had a wood horse so fine.
"Fill this horse with only your best"
"Give as a gift this idea we'll test! "

King Priam-Prince Paris was at odds over this.
The wood horse is a trick this you can't miss.
King Priam thought it was God's perfect gift.
King Priam-Prince Paris is now in a rift.

The night then came calling
Fair Troy began falling.
The city was ablaze and bombarded.
Not a single warrior was rewarded.

When the deathly ash settled
red bodies dishevelled,
Agamemnon stood there alone
Wondered where's the glory he honed?

Around him was death he didn't see yet.
Intentions for power smashed with bloodlet.
The city was dust no people remained
Nothing was left for Agamemnon to claim.

Ten years of fighting now all was red death,
Including Achilles who's gone to his rest.
Agamemnon the last king remained
No city no nobles no treasure he gained.

Around him were dead ones left as examples.
Soldiers ran through and pushed in the brambles.
The city was ashes there is nothing left.
The king packed his fleet his treasure bereft.

Helen and Paris did they get away?
Historians don't know this they won't say.
Agamemnon died in his bathtub one night.
Tied up and stabbed with an axe, not a knife!

Troy was discovered and exists today.
In a corner of Turkey, all tucked away.
Should you visit it's lovely still now.
Pray for Helen and Paris somehow.

Author Notes The history of Troy was only considered the legend of Troy until the city was discovered back in the early 1900s Troy exists now as a ruin in a corner of Turkey where people visit to this day. Helen of Troy, the face that launched a 1000 ships said to have started the war between the Greeks and the Trojans. These events occurred some time around 3000 B C, this is their story.

Chapter 15
Who's Boss

By Lea Tonin1

I'm the oldest you younger three,

you're so lucky you're in my tree.

There's three of us and one of you.

bossy Bro what will you do?

Author Notes It might be fun for kids to try and figure out who "bro" is...lol!

Chapter 16
Sentinels

By Lea Tonin1

early risers

brave the last winter frost

Standing sun face

Author Notes It strikes me that looking at a bunch of daffodils stand together and spread out. Looks like soldiers like the infantry holding off the frost so the other flowers can come up.

Chapter 17
The Mountain is She

By Lea Tonin1

the reservoir of crispy cold wind flutters

like dandelion seed flitting through the air

a musical breeze begins to roar

spreading white sheets across her rocky skirts

she lifts her hem expecting a manicure

to tend her granite toes

blustery snapping air

moves her avalanche of rushing pale freeze

she reveals the depth of her white demise

flashes to horror and imminent stop

no sycamore water lily or animal

vanished with the valley

the mountain shrugs

settles her skirts once again

sits upon her quartz throne

for another day of wind

Chapter 18
Heavy

By Lea Tonin1

Rolled shoulders the luggage of life

Strike for the springy step once known

Trip the emotional baggage a tearing cast

Unhinge guilt and shame totes of demise

And float....

Chapter 20
Precious

By Lea Tonin1

The jade sky kisses graceful mountain shoulders with a whisper.

Rolling sunshine trailing droplets of well-being a diamond delight.

Tranquillity shakes the hand of peace with a lover's smile.

Blue buds of serenity burst amidst a pond of crystal comfort.

Fleeting astonishment holds when all the world's a window.

Answers before questions are a tumbling wellspring of clarity.

Then remembrance runs between fingers back to obscurity.

Hold fast to contented memory until the next moment to ride is born.

Chapter 21
Deathly Immortality

By Lea Tonin1

The silent "S", the silken plea a golden promise

Slick pale sheets, glinting drapes on rounded hills.

Beckons travellers to stride the spell binding dry paths

A trick she has with grainy kisses switching faces.

Loses the group with moving mounds by wind

No grip in the living sands, grains of fraudulence.

Bearing new lands with sandy hair twirling in the wind

Our travelers past revealed with mummified pallor.

Author Notes The desert takes life quickly. Generally, by thirst and shifting sands can be deceptive for direction and for landmarks. So the desert kills without remorse. At the same time can preserve a person for thousands of years, a sort of life.

Chapter 22
Renewal

By Lea Tonin1

Ocean's

Chapter 23
Shattered

By Lea Tonin1

I see myself in you - shattered

Author Notes A little side note to go with this poem. The line being a little bit deceptive might indicate that I am shattered what it really means is that I recognize in others. I can see myself in you-shattered and it is perhaps a good tool to help. Thanks for reading everyone!

Chapter 24
Creation

By Lea Tonin1

Exsanguination

The potter's red wheel bleeds clay

Exquisite torrents

Chapter 25
In Gratitude

By Lea Tonin1

I am floating! An experience that's never been bestowed upon me. Seems I'll have to nail my feet to the ground!

I have been given the greatest gift of all the gifts. I sought my whole life for the gift of belief!

I have received it here above and beyond any expectation I ever had!
One woman reached out to me when I wrote my third chapter.

Rachelle Allen - she has been the back bone of this biographical book by gently moving me and encouraging me toward a successful conclusion!
There is no way to repay such kindness. Anything you ever need I will be there!

FANSTORY members - Never in my life have I ever experienced such support anywhere!
I didn't know that it existed. From you the members, it does!
You, the wonderful people on this site who have supported me and read along with me and survived the journey with me, kudos to you and thank you!
I am truly and forever grateful!

All my love!

Chapter 26
Mother's Child

By Lea Tonin1

a child's whimper for mother's embrace

cries grew loud at a scared, steady pace

darkness surrounds, no arms to hold

her room and bed soon became cold

slips through the doors in stocking feet

out through the back, her mom she seeks

the dark of the lane, the dog that howls

her feet moved faster away from the growls

a steady resolve but, fright still gripped her

on down the road, darkness a trickster

calls for her mother her cries only echoed

soon became lost her fear became tenfold

with nowhere to go no way to get home

she slipped by a dumpster, behind a stone

wrapped in her robe, she curled in a ball

her eyes became droopy with no warmth at all

the morning came calling, the light had returned

small crowd had gathered, an answer was learned

authorities surround a small covered mound

blue fingers blue hand, a small child was found

gather your children and keep them quite close

Death not planned... remember this most.

Author Notes The picture is of myself as a young girl a photograph remastered for this poem.

Chapter 27
Fist

By Lea Tonin1

Fist of lies

Disguised as love

Needless death

Author Notes This is the moment when a person realizes this love is not really love, not at the end of a fist
